WHO WE ARE
We are an interdisciplinary coalition, born of necessity during the 2018 United States Immigration Crisis. Our collective experiences have allowed us to form a Legal - Medical Partnership (MLP) to assist incarcerated immigrants.
Ayuda Familias brings the legal and medical communities together to facilitate positive outcomes for immigrants facing complex immigration and incarceration issues.
OUR WORK AIMS TO
address the systemic gap between incarcerated immigrants and their ability to obtain adequate medical care
recruit clinicians to assist attorneys and organizations overseeing acute medical cases
promote best practices for medical interventions for immigrants
oversee logistics for medical staff, attorneys, and clients as needed i.e. research support, detention release, reunification
Many immigrants still languish in US federal prisons with no hope of freedom. With your help, these medically-fragile immigrants can have a voice, and a streamlined method for receiving assistance.
Ayuda Familias’ allows clinicians and attorneys across the country, to actively collaborate on the most urgent medical cases in detention. By bringing the power of medicine to those who need it most, we can affect change, and bring justice through healthcare.
